RPT Geoplan
-
GeoPlan provides a full suite of applications for managing municipal planning and zoning, permitting, and code enforcement operations. Geoplan is ideal for small and medium size communities that have entry-level networks and do not need more than ten concurrent users. Unlike our other products, the database used by Geoplan is Microsoft Access. This keeps the cost of the project down and lets users deign their own forms and reports using the Access report writer.

Permits and Approvals Management
Building inspection and planning departments can automate permits and other approvals with GeoPlan. Application information is easily recorded and you can track and schedule approval steps, inspections and meetings. You can even specify that a validation check be performed before permit issuance to insure that builders meet certain insurance and license requirements. Application and permit forms can be easily designed to suit your needs and monthly detail and summary reporting is fully automated with GeoPlan.
Customizable Permit and Fee Types
Flexible set-up procedures are used to define the types of permits and related fees that your municipality issues and tracks. GeoPlan makes it easy for you to track multiple fees associated with a single permit. But this module is not limited to permits and inspections GeoPlan gives you the flexibility to define any type of approval process that you need to track.
Detailed Tracking of Permit Actions
Inspections are treated as one type of action that can be associated with a permit. The inspection types and other actions defined by you at set-up conveniently appear in a drop-down menu when you are entering permit actions. Because you define the number and types of actions, you control the level of process detail you can capture with GeoPlan to track permitting and inspections or any other type of approval process you define.
Interactive Data Validation Keeps Your Data Clean
Catch typing errors before they muddy your database. GeoPlan will alert you if the parcel number you assign to a new permit is invalid. You can also set up validation checks to insure that you have current license and insurance data on file for a contractor before you issue a permit. And everywhere in GeoPlan that you enter a street or subdivision name, valid choices are presented from which to choose, eliminating spelling errors and variations in road type abbreviations (AV or AVE) and plan-numbering schemes (Plan 2 or Plan II.) |

Property Data Management
Property data management forms the core of GeoPlan. The Property Management module organizes data pertaining to individual properties or parcels in your municipality. Basic parcel identification and ownership data can be easily imported from public records. Other important property data such as waste collection days, environmental hazards, and infrastructure availability can also be added to the database. Transfers of property ownership are quickly and easily updated in seconds.
Streamlined Access to Parcel History
GeoPlan includes features to help you review permitting and other activity histories for a specific parcel. Six notepads are available and can be customized to log notes from Planning Commission and Zoning Board meetings or anything else you wish to record and keep as part of the parcel record.
Parcel Classification Data
Each property can be categorized according to its zoning classification, census codes, land use, watershed, etc. These classifications are organized on the Classifications page, which also provides eight user-definable checkmark items which you can use to track additional classifications of importance to your municipality.
Create New Parcel Activity Records With Ease
Because the parcel is central to so many daily municipal activities, GeoPlan's Property Management module makes it easy to transfer data from a parcel record to other GeoPlan activity modules. Think of permitting, code enforcement, resident service requests, preparing lien letters - in each case the activity references a specific parcel. GeoPlan lets you link directly from the subject parcel record to issue a permit in the Permits module, a violation in the Code Enforcement module, to enter a service request, or to generate a new zoning appeal case. When you link from a parcel record to create a new record in another activity module, required data from the parcel record is automatically transferred to the new record. This feature saves you time, and because it eliminates data-entry errors, it helps to insure that accurate relationships are maintained between the parcel record and all associated activity records.

Subdivision Management
Subdivision Facts at Your Fingertips
The General page is used to record the subdivision numeric identifier, the subdivision name, the date the subdivision was recorded, the Developers name, Surveyors name, the number of lots, and the size (area) of the plan. In addition, a free-form memo field is provided to record additional details such as special conditions on the plan or any other items of interest regarding the subdivision.
Lots Comprise the Subdivision
The Lots page presents data pertaining to individual lots comprising the subdivision. The Tax ID or parcel number, House number, Street name, Lot number, Lot size, and Owner name are displayed for each lot.
Track Submittals and Reviews
The Actions page is used to track all actions related to subdivision submittals, reviews, and approvals. Action types can be predefined for customized drop-down menus in the Actions page.
Integrated Document Management
As in all GeoPlan modules, hard-copy documents, such as the subdivision plat, can be scanned and linked to the current subdivision record. Consider the advantage of having desktop access to as-built drawings or site plans. GeoPlan assigns and manages the link that makes the scanned image a virtual extension of the subdivision record. So you won't have to spend time tracking down the physical plan file, or searching the network for an image file. Multiple image files can be linked to each record. Thumbnail views make it easy to choose the image you need. And you have full control to pan and zoom the image view and print a hard copy, plus much more with GeoPlan's integrated document management. |
Zoning Appeals
With GeoPlan's Zoning Appeals module you won’t have to spend time searching through old, dusty files looking for historical cases. In seconds GeoPlan gives you access to every appeal case on file for the subject parcel record. Use this module to record relevant data from appeal applications such as the owner and applicant information, type of request, purpose, fee, and circumstances of the case. In addition, you can track the dates of required advertisements, postings, meetings, and notifications.
Case Status At a Glance
Status reporting is made simple when all of the tasks are defined and entered into the Actions page. Action types are defined using GeoPlan's flexible set-up procedures and you can define as many as you need to insure that you are able to capture as much detail as you require. Report templates can be stored in GeoPlan's report library to let you print the details on a single case, all cases for a given hearing date, and even all cases for a given parcel. Departmental management reports can be quickly generated also.
Detail the Arguments
Memo fields on the Circumstances page give you plenty of room to record comprehensive descriptions of appellant requests and arguments, as well as Zoning staff comments, which are useful in the preparation of case review packets and hearing date dockets.
Parcel-Centric Data Organization
Zoning Appeals data in GeoPlan is keyed on the parcel number which means that you can navigate seamlessly from the subject parcel to review that parcel's zoning appeal history or to generate a new appeal case. When you add a new case record, GeoPlan transfers the relevant parcel data into the appeal case record so you don't have to key-enter redundant data.
